Intelligent regenerating bone implants: PHYTECH project
Osseointegration and biocompatibility are the two key qualities on the design and development of new materials for bone implants. This is the work currently developed by the PHYTECH project, with the main objective to develop nnovative implants capable to repair and regenerate bone tissue.
PHYTECH is a public-private initiative, funded by the INNPACTO Project (granted by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and it will be developed over the next two years. The total budget is EUR 700 000 and the consortium members are two Spanish biotechnology companies, Laboratoris NuMat Biomedical SL and SANIFIT SL, the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Center for Biomedical Research in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine ( CIBER-BBN), of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
